Description:
What started
as an innocent errand turns into a zany adventure for the Westins as they
travel to the little town of Hidden Hollow. Bad weather and a wagon accident
plague them before they even reach their destination. When they finally arrive
in the drenched town, they’re greeted by a handful of people who begin acting
strangely.
Holly faces
uncooperative hotel staff, misplaced brothers, and murder. Can she keep her
sanity while she cares for waylaid family members? Can she figure out why
there’s a Hawaiian god in town throwing out curses that stick? What this place
needs is a visit from the Masked Rider, but how can the Masked Rider hope to
protect the Westin party from malicious forces before another of their group is
targeted?

Personal Notes:

There’s not really a specific reason I published novel #2 fourteen years after novel #1. I wrote them at the same time. After writing the first novel (Masked Rider: Origins), I wrote Hidden Hollow Hotel a few months later, and then I wrote the third novel (Dead Dad Deception) a few months after that. In maybe thirteen months, I wrote these three novels.
I would say a little bit of self-doubt, a little bit of procrastination, and a little bit of “imposter syndrome” might’ve held me back from publishing. It’s nerve-racking to publish stories near and dear to your heart. But my main focus is on providing hours and hours of entertainment to readers. Because I have enjoyed that my whole life. I want to pay it forward to others.
To be fair to myself—it’s not like I haven’t published anything in these fourteen years. I’ve published a few other stories and novellas. I’ve written and published several fan fiction stories. I’ve published eight or more novellas from the Ella Westin mystery series.
I’ve also written several more Masked Rider novels and another Ella Westin story.
So I’ve been very busy writing AND publishing. It’s just, somehow, fourteen years went by between book #1 and book #2 in The Masked Rider Mystery series.
Fortunately, my current publishing plan is as follows:
02/14/2027 Valentine’s Villain Ella Westin Mystery #12 (Novella)
03/21/2027 Masked Rider and the Dead Dad Deception #3 (Novel)
10/01/2027 Masked Rider and the Cruel Cape #3.5 (Novella)
11/23/2028 Masked Rider and the Traveling Troupe of Terror #4 (Novel)
06/01/2029 Masked Rider and Checkmated Chess Champions #5 (Novel)
12/01/2029 Masked Rider and Ricky Redd’s Revenge #6 (Novel)
