2012 Reading Challenges

A-Z Challenge
January 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012
This one is pretty self-explanatory. The idea is to read 26 books, each starting with a different letter of the alphabet. I found this challenge at Socrates' Book Reviews and she said, since 'x' is hard to find, that letter just has to be in the title. I'm going to try and find a book that starts with 'x' but if I don't - I'm going to use her out!

I'm really excited about this one for two reasons. #1, I got a Nook! #2, I'm loving the indie authors I'm finding!

I'm going to sign up for Sentence - 5 books but I'll probably read more. (I just have so many challenges I want to keep this fun. Reading has never been homework and I don't want to make it so.)

2012 Men In Uniform
Hosted by The Book Vixen
January 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012
Books may be in any format
Books can overlap with other challenges
Must be novels that feature men in uniform (policeman, firefighter, paramedic, doctor, veterinarian, Army, Navy, Marine Corp., etc. – as long as the leading man wears some sort of uniform, it counts.
Nothing is set in stone; you can change levels at any time during the challenge.

I'm going for Sergeant (1-5 books) since I read cozies where there are no men in uniform. I'm going to get creative, though. Instead of finding a police procedural, I'm going to dig around the cozy mystery books and find an amateur sleuth (or surrounding character) who works in uniform.
