Stephen J. Cannell

This guy inspired and entertained me since I was a little girl. His humorous writing, witty characters, fun, action and adventure shows got me through days I didn't think I'd get through. I was very sick as a child and in a lot of pain most days. What he did with his life affected mine in the most positive ways. He's part of the reason I write - I want to use my life inspiring, entertaining and helping people just like he helped me...

Stephen J. Cannell, you will be missed but never forgotten.

I liked his work too. A lot of it was dated even when it came out (Magnum! Rockford Files!) but it was always such terrific fun.

I'm sorry he's gone. But it's good to know that an author has inspired someone you know. You have written a very nice tribute. Personally, I know his name only because his books always share a shelf in the bookstores and libraries with one of my favorite authors, Stephen L. Carter. And I've picked his books up a few times and reshelved them. After reading your tribute, I want to read one of his books and take it from there. Since you are familiar with his works, can you suggest a favorite? Thanks.

I enjoyed his crime dramas. May he rest in peace.

I didn't KNOW him know him, though I got to meet him twice when he did a talk at various Borders around the country. (Very cool!)

As far as his writing, I was referring to the TV shows like 'Greatest American Hero', '21 Jump Street' and of course 'A-Team'.

And who could forget 'Renegade' which he didn't only write but played a character that is a combo of Lt. Philip Gerard and the one-armed man in one deliciously evil villian!

For his novels, a friend of mine in High School said she read one and it was a lot harsher than she was expecting so it never made it to my reading list. Now that he's passed and his work is finite, I think I'll start reading the novels. It's so sad! He's got another book coming out soon and he's not even around to see it. October 12 his novel is coming out and the rest of 'Renegade' (seasons 4 & 5 that have never been released).

He was such a cool and prolific writer.

Aww so sorry to hear that. But he left his imprint and inspiration in your heart. May he R.I.P.
